the clark alphabet

the clark alphabet is a concept book, based around the notion of an alphabet created using widely recoginsed symbols placed in a generic environment. the book reads as a puzzle, with a code for the viewer to decipher.

i created this piece as an experiment in how far i could push the concept of letters as symbols. i wanted each letter to be a self-contained picture, and to be ambiguous to the reader at first. only once you engage and understand the code can you then use the alphabet. like a spy.

more information on where you might be able to get a copy of the clark alphabet coming soon. if you can't wait and need to know more email thisisandrewclark@gmail.com
